The Reality of the Budget 2014 to Sabahans

By Zainnal Ajamain

zainal1Once a year the Prime Minister as the Malaysia Minister of Finance make his long awaited speech in Parliament pertaining to the health of the national economy and the income and expenditure in the following year.  As usual the Malaysian courtiers start fawning and giving views on how well the national budget is.  The more they open their mouth, the more they are showing their own stupidity and confirm that they are unlettered. Sabah’s Tai Chi Master – Datuk Dr. Yee Moh Chai

The Minister of Resource Development and Information Technology, Datuk Dr Yee Moh Chai should stop this melodrama and exasperation over the dismal broadband services in Sabah.  Stop playing Tai Chi and away with the Mahathir syndrome because as the Minister who looks after information technology development in Sabah the buck stop with YOU!!  Grow up and take the blame like a man.  What a pathetic behavior from a Deputy Chief Minister of Sabah.

Rancangan Malaya Ke10 Menepati Sasaran

A very apt name to call the RMK10 as Rancangan Malaya Ke10.  Najib is not talking about Malaysia he is just talking only about Malaya specifically Klang Valley and Selangor.  I bet my bottom ringgit ( not that much) that Sabah will get the 2nd highest allocation and Sarawak will get the 3rd largest allocation.  The local Ministers will be so happy patting each other’s back on a job well done.  But wait a minute, “Where is the money, Show me the money!”

This is clearly shown in the ideas of the Barisan Nasional, where political power is welded by 3 major components United Malay National Organisation (UMNO), the Malaya (Malaysian) Indian Congress (MIC) and the Malaya (Malaysian) Chinese Association (MCA).  The role of other members of the Barisan National components is irrelevant; they are practically impotent their presence as members is just to legitimize decisions made by the big 3.

Changes are sweeping across the political and economic landscape in Malaysia especially after the political Tsunami of 2008 and the uncertainty and volatility of global economic scenarios.  Both the MIC and MCA are racked by institutional breakdowns, and UMNO is also facing a crisis of confidence.  The political power of the Big 3 is finally in disarray and the leaders are powerless to give order into these chaos.

Greece and Sabah like two peas in a pod

Distance does not matter when having the same mentality and living by the same habits.  This makes Greece and Sabah as close as blood siblings.  There must be some Alexander the great descendents who lost their way and end up in Sabah a long time ago.

This is another mis-conception amongst the people in Sabah.  Some segment of the people in Sabah believes that the Borneonization process as recommended under the Cobbold Commission was never implemented in Sabah.  As such some still argue that this should be done as outline in the 20 points.
